Project Overview
The project was developed as part of the final paper in general education lessons. In collaboration with Mia Stucki, we took a closer look at the topic of «anesthesia» under the overall theme of «Insights». The goal of the project was to find out more about anesthesia and to create a children's book to educate and distract the children.
Goals
The goal of the project was to gain a better understanding of the subject of anesthesia and to put our knowledge, both professional and from the VA, into a children's book. This children's book is intended to accompany and distract children before and after surgery.
Process
To create the children's book, we had to obtain all the knowledge first. To do this, we visited the hospital and interviewed anesthetists. With this knowledge, we created a vision of the book using a Pinterest board and wrote a story. We let our creativity run 100% and split the story into two and illustrated half of it ourselves.
Review
The book was highly praised by both the children and Burgdorf Hospital. For the children in particular, the pictures were funny and cool and Burgdorf Hospital is of the opinion that a book like this can distract and support a child. Our ABU teacher also liked it a lot and not to forget Mia and I, who are very proud of our work.
