Project Overview
For a school project in the 3rd year of training as interactive media designers, we carried out a video project in a team of 4 on the topic “On the risks and side effects of social media, read the package insert”. We developed a treatment, a storyboard and a daily schedule. After filming, we started post-production, which was then an individual task.
Goals
The goal of the project was to present and illustrate the dangers and opportunities of social media. As a team, we decided to focus on one topic: Fake profiles on Instagram. We wanted to show how easy it is to be deceived on Instagram and reveal too much personal data without proper information or awareness. We wanted to explain the topic in an understandable way, especially for teenagers.
Process
The creation of the story was a group effort between Aline Maltry, Jana Schuppisser, Stefanie Stöckli and myself. We developed a treatment, a storyboard and also a daily schedule as part of our school lessons. Based on this, Aline Maltry and Jana Schuppisser arranged a day of filming together and shot the scenes in pairs. After the shoot, we sorted out the scenes and each edited the video ourselves.

Review
This video was submitted as part of the «Pro Forma» school prize and judged by a selected jury. As a group, we took first place in 2024 and received a prize of 800. We are very proud of our result. The feedback was very positive.

Final result
The final result is a one-minute video that shows the course of such a danger on social media. Light and music were used to show and reflect the mood in the video.
